European Investment Bank holds talks in Scotland

A major European lending bank is in Scotland this week, trying to find out why business has fallen away and looking for ways to turn that around. (Sourced from BBC.)
It's no ordinary lender, but a very large arm of European governments, which last year put more than £70bn into projects across the continent.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has sent a high-level team to meet First Minister Alex Salmond, and three other ministers.
Led by vice-president Simon Brooks, they also met the Scottish Futures Trust chairman, Sir Angus Grossart, and with the new chief executive of Transport Scotland.
But meeting the media in the midst of a busy schedule, Mr Brooks was not going to be drawn on the reasons why it's been getting less business in recent years.
That's controversial, political territory, because it could be linked to the SNP's handling of major infrastructure projects, with the Scottish Futures Trust still to find a clear role.
